Overview:
Drawing from Japan’s rich tradition of music and performance, Taikoza has created a new sound using a variety of traditional instruments. In addition to the Japanese taiko drum, Taikoza incorporates bamboo flutes, colorful dances and audience participation to create an exciting program. Taikoza has recently been seen on ESPN’s Sumo Tournament at Madison Square Garden, the History Channel, THE LAST SAMURAI dvd set, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Taikoza is featured on the award-winning score for RED STEEL, the new Nintendo Wii video game. Taikoza regularly tours in Europe and has many recordings available through their website, www.taikoza.com. TAIKOZA: BEGINNINGS was nominated for best album for the 2004 JPP awards.
